Name - the name of the menu.
Draw method - the method used to display the buttons on the screen. You can choose which state is on top, which one is below it and which one is at the bottom. The mode "Selected, Current, Normal" means that the Selected state is on top and the Normal state is at the bottom. The Activated state always replaces the Selected state. Drawing methods with a slash ("/") mean that one state replaces another. For example, "Current, Selected/Normal" means that in this mode the Selected state replaces the Normal one.
Optimization - lets you disable the optimization for a particular menu.
Hide normal for current - enables the mode in which the Normal state of a button is hidden while the button is marked with its Current state. It adds a move container to the Normal states of the buttons.
Intro Movie - the movie used as an intro before the menu video starts. The intro movie must not have a popup menu, and it has to contain a chapter marking the position where the menu graphics appear. The intro is played only when the menu is entered from a movie or a menu with different video/audio tracks. WARNING: do not set the "Intro Movie" as the "First Play" - this does not work. Set the menu that has the intro movie as the "First Play" instead. More details.
Inactivity time - the time in seconds after which the Inactivity action is executed if the user does not press any button. 0 means that it is never executed.
Inactivity action - the action executed when the Inactivity time has run out.
Action every second - an action executed every second. It can be used to update a timeline.
On update current - the action called when the menu updates its current states. It can be used for custom current states (showing/hiding current states).
Open sound - the sound played when the menu appears. See this page for details.
JAR - lets you specify the JAR this menu is placed in.
Include objects from - lets you add the objects of another menu during compilation (submenu). More details can be found here.
Convert for HDR (UHD version only) - converts the colors of the current menu to match the HDR color space during compilation. The parameters are described here.
Allow save state - allows the current menu/movie to be saved to the storage as the current state of the disc, for the "Disc resume" operation.
The video and audio tracks (streams) of the menu. If you want the same video and audio to play in the background of all your menus, you have to select the same video and audio for each of them. If you do not specify a menu video, the application creates an infinite slideshow from a black rectangle or from the Designer background image (if one is specified). Note: see also how to specify multiple-file streams.
The "Custom playlist" and "Autoshow menu for custom playlist" properties are shown here if you enable "Allow custom playlist for menu" in the program options. If you set the "Custom playlist" property, the video, the audio and the "Intro Movie" are removed during compilation.
Using the playlist property means that you have to manage all navigation within the playlist (such as looping) yourself.How to use a custom playlist:
- enable "Allow custom playlist for menu" in the program options;
- create one or several movies and combine them into a playlist;
- select this playlist in menu → Streams → Custom playlist;
- right-click the playlist and select "Open scenes (direct editing)";
- add the chapters used for navigation;
- right-click a chapter in the chapter list on the right to add an action; usually you will need Java code here (add an action, convert it to a script, and make sure there is no playVideo/startVideo call, or replace such calls with jumpPlayMark).
Instead of a playlist chapter, you can select "Script (java)" in the "Custom playlist" popup menu (in the Properties window or in the Matrix) to start the menu playlist with your own code, for example to choose the chapter or the playlist depending on a condition. The script is executed instead of the usual playlist start.
The application still needs to know which movie/playlist is the real menu playlist. It is detected by the first text in single quotes in the script that matches the name of a movie or playlist in the project. Comments are searched too, so you can name the playlist in a comment if it does not appear in the code, for example: // 'Main Menu Loop'Quoted texts that do not match any movie/playlist name are skipped. Since the quotes are paired in order, avoid single apostrophes before the name (such as don't in a comment). If no name is found, the compilation stops with the "Movie was not found for the menu custom playlist" error.
Here you can assign actions to the various remote control buttons. Note that using the Play/Pause/Stop/Next track/Prev track/Fast forward/Rewind buttons switches the main title to interactive mode.
Animation 1..10 - the animation played while the menu is being entered.
Action 1..10 - the action executed after the animation has finished playing (if one is set). You can jump to another menu or choose any other action.
You can jump to a menu directly (without an enter animation/action) or use one of its enter animations/actions.
